SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dr. David Allen Frey of Woodstock, who
4passed away on April 3, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Frey was born in Mendota to Allen Louis and
6Mary Elizabeth (Larabee) Frey on November 26, 1935; he grew up
7in Earlville and received a Bachelor of Science from Monmouth
8College in 1957; he received a Master of Science in Chemistry
9and a doctorate from the University of Iowa in 1959 and 1961
10respectively; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dr. Frey worked for the Phillips Petroleum Company
12in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Morton International in
13Woodstock and Chicago until retiring in 1997; he then taught
14chemistry at McHenry County College for one year; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dr. Frey was a member of the McHenry County
16Audubon Society for 32 years, the American Chemical Society,
17and the McHenry County Computer Club; he was Boy Scout Leader
18for Troop 359 and enjoyed camping, birding, gardening, and
19mechanical jobs; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dr. Frey was preceded in death by his parents and
21his brothers-in-law, Richard Michelini and Bob Inness; and

1    WHEREAS, Dr. Frey is survived by his wife of 58 years,
2Carol; his son, Donald (Patti) Frey; his daughter, Sandra (Bob)
3Landrey; his grandchildren, Neil, Shaine, Jerrid, and Drew Frey
4and Jessica, Rachel, and Amanda Landrey; his sisters-in-law,
5Marilyn Michelini and Doris Inness; and many nieces and
6nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Dr. David Allen Frey, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Dr. Frey as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
