| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Roscoe "Dallas" Davenport of Silvis, who |
| 4 | | passed away on May 7, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport was born in Greene Township to |
| 6 | | Roscoe Vance and Gladys Brown Davenport on April 17, 1939; he |
| 7 | | served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965 and |
| 8 | | married Jeanne Sanquist on December 16, 1966; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport worked as a skilled tradesman for |
| 10 | | J.I. Case in Bettendorf, Iowa for 23 years; he also worked at |
| 11 | | the Rock Island Arsenal for several years before retiring in |
| 12 | | 1995; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport was a member of United |
| 14 | | Presbyterian Church and the Moline American Legion Post No. |
| 15 | | 246; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and |
| 16 | | the Fighting Illini; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport was preceded in death by his |
| 18 | | parents; his two sisters, Marilyn Smith and Martha Thorp; and |
| 19 | | his two brothers, Charles and Benjamin Davenport; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport is survived by his wife, Jeanne; |
