SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Michael Schroeder of Arlington Heights, 
4who passed away on May 8, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Michael Schroeder attended St. Viator High School 
6in Arlington Heights and earned his bachelor's degree, manga 
7cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame; he graduated from 
8University of Illinois Dental School in 1980; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Michael Schroeder worked as a  dentist and owned 
10Arlington Heights Dental Group, a practice started by his 
11father in 1954; he also volunteered his dental services to 
12Wheeling Township's Mobile Dental Clinic and served on the 
13Northwest Community Hospital Dental Advisory Board; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Michael Schroeder has  a long, distinguished 
15record of public service; he  was Wheeling Township Supervisor 
16from 2001 until March of 2016; he received the 2004 Township 
17Officials of Illinois Supervisor of the Year award; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Michael Schroeder was elected as a Trustee to the 
19Arlington Heights Village Board from 1989 to 1992; from 1992 to 
201993, he served as acting-Village President; and

1    WHEREAS, Michael Schroeder is survived by his wife, Cindy, 
2and his two sons and two daughters; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Michael Schroeder, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Michael Schroeder  as an expression 
10of our deepest sympathy.
