SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Kenneth K. Harris, who passed away on 
4January 11, 2016; and
  
 
  
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth Harris was a 28-year veteran firefighter 
6with the Village of Oak Park; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Kenneth Harris was a hard worker and a fireman's 
8fireman; he understood the commitment of the job, loved being a 
9firefighter, loved the Oak Park Fire Department, and loved 
10serving the Village of Oak Park; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Kenneth Harris was an asset to the Department and 
12the Village of Oak Park for the services he provided to the 
13community; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Kenneth Harris was preceded in death by his 
15father, James Harris, and his brother-in-law, Earl Johnson; and

  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, Kenneth Harris was the beloved husband of Shirley 
17(Chesny); the loving father of Heather (James) Neives, Eric, 
18Megan (Matthew) Sapikas, Adam, and Isaac; the beloved son of 
19Joan Ferrantelli and the late James Harris; the cherished 
20grandfather of Lily, Amelia, Aiden, and Scarlett; the dear

1brother of Debbie Johnson; and the fond brother-in-law, uncle, 
2and friend to many; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Kenneth K. Harris, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Kenneth Harris as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
