SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  John Henry Kahl of East Peoria, who 
4passed away on May 25, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, John Kahl was born on October 31, 1942; his 
6parents were Joseph and Susanna Kahl; he married Genevieve 
7"Geri" Dickerson on May 28, 1964 in Peoria; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, John Kahl retired from Caterpillar's Mapleton 
9plant in 2001 after 38 years of dedicated service; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, John Kahl enjoyed being outdoors and was often 
11found in his garage or yard; he also loved fishing, car racing, 
12and spending family time with his children and grandchildren; 
13and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, John Kahl was preceded in death by his wife, 
15Genevieve; his brother, Joe; his sisters, Francis and Angie; 
16and his parents; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, John Kahl is survived by his children, Christine 
18Kahl, John (Allison) Kahl, Michelle (Mike) Spokely, Colleen, 
19Theresa, and Katie (Richie) Jackson, Stephanie (David) 
20Kahl-Burnstein, and Monica (Keun) Getz; his grandchildren,

1Andrew, Keaira, Jared, Ashlyn, Evan, Genevieve, Riley, Nick, 
2Josh, Zack, Jake, Sam, Oliver, and Zalie; his brother, Frank; 
3and his in-laws, the Dickerson, Sylkaitis, Shults, and Smith 
4families; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
7family and friends, mourn the passing of John Henry Kahl; and 
8be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of John Kahl as an expression of our 
11sympathy.
