SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Bruno "Bronco" Bobrowski of Gurnee, who
4passed away on May 25, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bruno Bobrowski was born in North Chicago to
6Stanley and Anna Bobrowski on October 11, 1930; he graduated
7from Waukegan High School in 1948 and served in the United
8States Armed Forces during the Korean War with the 3rd Combat
9Engineers; he married Virginia Pekol on August 31, 1963; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Bruno Bobrowski was employed at Cyclone Fence and
11with the Great Lake Fire Department; he then began a 23-year
12career with the North Chicago Fire Department, where he served
13as Fire Chief from 1973 to 1980; after retirement, he worked 10
14years as a Building Inspector for the LC Building & Zoning
15Department, and as a Field Engineer with the Warren Township
16Assessor's Office; he also served as President of the Foss Park
17District, during which time the golf course was planned and
18built; upon his final retirement, he volunteered with Habitat
19for Humanity; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Bruno Bobrowski was a member of Holy Rosary, St.
21Patrick, and most recently, St. Paul the Apostle Church; he
22loved playing golf as a foursome with, Ted, Tony, and Fritz;

2    WHEREAS, Bruno Bobrowski was preceded in death by his wife
3of 35 years, Virginia; his parents; his brothers, Anthony
4(Bob), William, Joseph, Leo, and Ted; and his sisters, Sophee
5and Stella (Walczak); and
 
6    WHEREAS, Bruno Bobrowski is survived by his daughters,
7Kathy Bobrowski, Cindy (Mike) Munda, and Carrie (Justin)
8Alluri; his grandchildren, Morgan Munda (Mike Barber), Ryan
9Opal, Mitchell Munda, Scott Opal, and Joe, Andy, and Tommy
10Alluri; his brother, Stanley; his sister-in-law, Carol
11Bobrowski; and many beloved nieces and nephews; therefore, be
12it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Bruno "Bronco" Bobrowski, and extend our sincere condolences to
16his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Bruno Bobrowski as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
