SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Maynard "MG" Mowrey of Stockland, who
4passed away on May 9, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Maynard Mowrey was born on October 16, 1921 in
6Iroquois; his parents were James D. and Eva I. Jones Mowrey; he
7married Harriett M. Callahan on November 7, 1960; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Maynard Mowrey was a lifelong farmer in the
9Stockland area; he also served as a fireman for 53 years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Maynard Mowrey was a 70-year member of the Watseka
11Elks Lodge; he served as a trustee and treasurer for the
12Stockland Fire Department and as a member of the Stockland
13School Board for eight years; he also served on the Iroquois
14Area Career Center Board, the Sugar Creek Cemetery Board, and
15the Stockland Grain Elevator Board of Directors; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Maynard Mowrey was preceded in death by his
17parents; his sister, Geneva Chancellor; and his grandson, Caleb
18Mowrey; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Maynard Mowrey is survived by his wife, Harriett;
20his sons, Jim (Debra) Mowrey, Ty (Trish) Mowrey, and Jon

1(Tracy) Mowrey; his grandchildren, Jamie (Darrin) Bakken,
2Jennifer Mowrey, Shane (Beka) Lavicka, Amie Lavicka, Ashlie
3Lavicka, Cody, Caley, and Cassidy Mowrey, Colton (Alisha)
4Styck, Hayley Styck, and Charlee, Jakki, and Hunter Mowrey; and
5his great-grandchildren, Caden and Emmerson Lavicka;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Maynard "MG" Mowrey;
10and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Maynard Mowrey as an expression of
13our sympathy.
