SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Freddie Tegel of Waukegan, who passed
4away on May 29, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Freddie Tegel was born in Waukegan on February 28,
61927 and resided there his entire life; he graduated from
7Waukegan High School; he was a Private in the United States
8Army, 304th Operations Signal Battalion in Japan starting on
9May 7, 1945 through December 15, 1945, when he received his
10Honorable Discharge; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Freddie Tegel was a Lieutenant on the Waukegan
12Fire Department and retired after over 28 years of service; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Freddie Tegel was a past member of Mother of God
14Church and Queen of Peace and attended St. Anastasia; he was a
15member of the North East Illinois Retired Firefighters
16Association, SNPJ (Slovenic National Home), and the Loyal Order
17of the Moose; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Freddie Tegel was preceded in death by his wife,
19Frances; his brother, Stan; and his parents; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Freddie Tegel is survived by his son, Don (Julie)

1Meadie, and his grandson, Patrick Meadie; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Freddie Tegel, and extend our sincere condolences to his
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Freddie Tegel as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
