SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Thomas H. Hawkins of Colona, who passed 
4away on May 27, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Hawkins was born in Moline to Howard 
6"Lucky" and Beverly Ostrowski Hawkins on June 28, 1952; he 
7retired from the United States Army, where he was a Major in 
8the Chemical Brigade; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Thomas Hawkins retired from Case International 
10Harvester as a machinist after 31 years of service; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Thomas Hawkins enjoyed fishing, watching the 
12Illini and the Chicago Bears, and spending time  with his 
13friends; he also loved his dog, Sam; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Thomas Hawkins was preceded in death by his 
15grandparents, Florence and Stanley Ostrowski; his father; and 
16his nephew, Matthew Hawkins; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Thomas Hawkins is survived by his mother, Beverly 
18Hawkins; his wife, Kelly; his children, Chris Hawkins and 
19Rachel Hawkins; his grandchildren, Emily Hawkins, Isabelle 
20Hawkins, Nathaniel Sharpe, Jordin Manning, Paige Hawkins,

1Karsin Manning, and Amara Bryant; his brother, Robert 
2(Jeanette) Hawkins; and his  sister, Mary (Gary) Jones; 
3therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Thomas H. Hawkins, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to  the family of  Thomas Hawkins as an expression of 
11our deepest sympathy.
