SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Lawrence E. "Larry" McGinnis of 
4Hillsdale, who passed away on May 27, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lawrence McGinnis was born on February 19, 1944 in 
6Dubuque, Iowa; his parents were Edward and Vera Phillips 
7McGinnis; he married Susan Beetem on September 3, 1966 in 
8Dubuque, Iowa; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Lawrence McGinnis was a veteran of the United 
10States Army; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Lawrence McGinnis loved NASCAR, camping, and 
12working on golf carts; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Lawrence McGinnis was preceded in death by his 
14parents; his sister, Barbra Pregler; and his brothers-in-law, 
15Don Pregler and Leo Pottebaum; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Lawrence McGinnis is survived by his loving wife 
17of 49 years, Susan; his son, Bill (Joanna) McGinnis; his 
18daughters, Dawn Hall, Terri Massa, and Cheri (Rick) Kessler; 
19his 11 grandchildren; his two great-grandchildren; his sister, 
20Shirley Pottebaum; and his brothers, James McGinnis and Wayne

1McGinnis; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
4family and friends, mourn the passing of Lawrence E. "Larry" 
5McGinnis; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Lawrence McGinnis as an expression 
8of our sympathy.
