| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Darrell C. Free of Port Byron, who passed |
| 4 | | away on June 9, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Darrell Free was born in Moline to Glenn and |
| 6 | | Lillah Mae (Knapp) Free on September 13, 1946; he graduated |
| 7 | | from Moline High School in 1964; he joined the United States |
| 8 | | Army in 1968 and served as an Intelligence Specialist until his |
| 9 | | discharge in 1970; he returned home and attended Black Hawk |
| 10 | | College; he married Donna DeDecker in Moline on February 11, |
| 11 | | 1979; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Darrell Free had a long career as a machinist, and |
| 13 | | later a Project Manager, at Rock Island Arsenal; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Darrell Free enjoyed camping all over the country; |
| 15 | | he loved playing and watching basketball, building things with |
| 16 | | his grandchildren, and working with computers; he took great |
| 17 | | pleasure in his walks by the river, his church, and spending |
| 18 | | time with family and friends; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Darrell Free was preceded in death by his parents |
| 20 | | and his brothers, Richard and Roger Free; and
