SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Frederick Ray Sparks, Sr. of Rock Island,
4who passed away on June 19, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frederick Sparks, Sr. was born on October 15, 1938
6in Hannibal, Missouri; his parents were Lewis and Irene Herring
7Sparks; he married Sharon Lynne Minnich on August 9, 1958 at
8Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Frederick Sparks, Sr. proudly served his country
10in the United States Marine Corps; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Frederick Sparks, Sr. worked as a union pipefitter
12for United Association Local 25 in Rock Island for many years
13until his retirement in 2000; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Frederick Sparks, Sr. was a gifted mechanic and
15welder; he was also an avid duck hunter, deer hunter, and
16all-around outdoorsman; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Frederick Sparks, Sr. was preceded in death by his
18wife, Sharon; his parents; and his sister, Norma Tollenaer; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Frederick Sparks, Sr. is survived by his children,

1Lewis (Kym) Sparks II, Frederick R. "Pete" Sparks, Jr., and
2Lynne Sparks; his grandchildren, Fred Sparks III, Dr. Jesse
3(Omid Keshtkar) Sparks, and Jamie Sparks; and his
4great-granddaughter, Alexis McClay; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Frederick Ray Sparks,
8Sr.; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Frederick Sparks, Sr. as an
11expression of our sympathy.
