| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Tubencio "Walt" Carpio of Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on June 18, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Tubencio Carpio was born in East Moline to Pedro |
| 6 | | and Mary (Perez) Carpio on January 24, 1927; he served in the |
| 7 | | United States Army during World War II and the Korean War; he |
| 8 | | married Alma Guyer in Moline on February 17, 1968; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Tubencio Carpio was a skilled small-appliance |
| 10 | | repairman; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Tubencio Carpio was a charter member of the World |
| 12 | | War II Memorial Monument in Washington, D.C. and the World War |
| 13 | | II National Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana; he enjoyed |
| 14 | | fishing, hunting, reading, and music; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Tubencio Carpio was preceded in death by his wife, |
| 16 | | Alma; his parents; and his brothers, Charles, Jesse, Frank, |
| 17 | | Tony, and Robert; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Tubencio Carpio is survived by his siblings, |
| 19 | | Joseph Carpio, Margaret Mayer, Lupe Reese, Terry (Adolph) |
| 20 | | DeFauw, and Joanne (Roger) Hurt; many nieces and nephews; his |
