SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Tubencio "Walt" Carpio of Moline, who
4passed away on June 18, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tubencio Carpio was born in East Moline to Pedro
6and Mary (Perez) Carpio on January 24, 1927; he served in the
7United States Army during World War II and the Korean War; he
8married Alma Guyer in Moline on February 17, 1968; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Tubencio Carpio was a skilled small-appliance
10repairman; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Tubencio Carpio was a charter member of the World
12War II Memorial Monument in Washington, D.C. and the World War
13II National Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana; he enjoyed
14fishing, hunting, reading, and music; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Tubencio Carpio was preceded in death by his wife,
16Alma; his parents; and his brothers, Charles, Jesse, Frank,
17Tony, and Robert; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Tubencio Carpio is survived by his siblings,
19Joseph Carpio, Margaret Mayer, Lupe Reese, Terry (Adolph)
20DeFauw, and Joanne (Roger) Hurt; many nieces and nephews; his

1stepdaughters, Janice and Jean; and numerous
2step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; therefore, be
3it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Tubencio "Walt" Carpio, and extend our sincere condolences to
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Tubencio Carpio as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
