SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of George W. "Judd" Hendricks of Champaign,
4who passed away on June 6, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Hendricks was born in Duluth, Minnesota to
6Dr. Paul Knox and Zella Rachel Hendricks on April 17, 1928; he
7attended junior college and moved to Brainerd, Minnesota; he
8married Edith Mattie Tollefson on September 1, 1950; he served
9two years in the United States Armed Forces during the Korean
10War; and
 
11    WHEREAS, After being honorably discharged, George
12Hendricks attended the General Motors Institute in Flint,
13Michigan; in 1959, he was hired by the Northwestern National
14Life Insurance Company (NWNL); for the next 45 years, he worked
15in both management and sales, eventually relocating to
16Champaign in 1965, where he established a new office; he
17remained with the NWNL until his retirement in 2004; and
 
18    WHEREAS, George Hendricks was preceded in death by a
19sister-in-law; a brother-in-law; three nieces; and a nephew;
20and
 
21    WHEREAS, George Hendricks is survived by his wife of 65

1years, Edith; his sons, Michael (Janet), Brian (Carol), Brad
2(Joni), and Tom (Lori); his grandchildren, Rachel (Collin)
3Corcoran, Greta (Scott) Natkow, and Jenna, Jacob, Bart, and
4Heather Hendricks; his three great-grandchildren, Donovan,
5Angela, and William Judd; and his six siblings, Elwyn (Joyce),
6Paul (Delores), Deane (Doloris), Dwaine, Maurine, and Sharon
7(John); therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10George W. "Judd" Hendricks, and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of George Hendricks as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
