| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Philip C. Bradley, Jr. of Chatham, who |
| 4 | | passed away on June 27, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Philip Bradley, Jr. was born on April 29, 1944 in |
| 6 | | Springfield; his parents were Philip C. and Frances Platt |
| 7 | | Bradley, Sr.; he married Sylvia Sorrill on August 24, 1974 in |
| 8 | | Alexander; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Philip Bradley, Jr. graduated from Sangamon State |
| 10 | | University with a bachelor's degree and delivered the |
| 11 | | university's first student commencement speech; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Philip Bradley, Jr. began his teaching career at |
| 13 | | Little Flower Elementary as a sixth grade teacher; he later |
| 14 | | became the Director for the Illinois Department of Public Aid |
| 15 | | and the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services; in |
| 16 | | 1996, he became the President and CEO of the Family Health |
| 17 | | Network in Chicago; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Philip Bradley, Jr. enjoyed serving in his |
| 19 | | community; he was a member and Elder at Westminster |
| 20 | | Presbyterian Church and was a trustee for Lincoln Land |
| 21 | | Community College for 19 years; and
