SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Earl L. Bennett of Moline, who passed 
4away on June 22, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Earl Bennett was born in Oakwood, Oklahoma to  Jess 
6and Pauline (Writer) Bennett on October 21, 1935; he served in 
7the United States Navy and married Mary Bennett in Keyes, 
8Oklahoma on August 22, 1959;   he later married Janet Wood in Las 
9Vegas, Nevada on February 10, 2000; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Earl Bennett retired in 1987 from the Rock Island 
11Arsenal; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Earl Bennett enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and 
13traveling; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Earl Bennett was preceded in death by his first 
15wife, Mary; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Earl Bennett is survived by his wife, Janet; his 
17children, Quilla Bennett, Stephanie Bennett, and Jonna 
18Bennett; his stepchildren, Matthew Moskowitz and Stacy 
19Barnett; his grandchildren, Rachel and Michael Kimbro, and 
20Brandon and Stephen Zhou; his great-granddaughter, Lilli; his

1six step-grandchildren; his sister, Verla Lawson; and his 
2brother, Carl Bennett; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Earl L. Bennett, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Earl Bennett as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
