SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joyce Jacqueline Milliman of Crystal
4Lake, who passed away on June 16, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joyce Milliman was born in Hallock, Minnesota to
6Elsie (Goetz) Gardiner and John Gardiner on June 19, 1944; she
7enjoyed her early childhood on a farm in Orleans, Minnesota,
8and as a teenager, lived in Grand Forks, North Dakota, where
9she attended high school; she married Bob Milliman at St.
10Mary's Church in Grand Forks and they spent their first eight
11years in the United States Air Force; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Joyce Milliman and her husband were foster parents
13to numerous children; she was a teacher in the "Good News"
14children's club, and home-schooled her youngest children
15through middle school; her favorite song was the Old Rugged
16Cross; she collected dolls and angels, and was a very talented
17seamstress; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Joyce Milliman was a member of Calvary Assembly of
19God in Crystal Lake; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Joyce Milliman was preceded in death by her
21parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Joyce Milliman is survived by her husband of 53
2years, Bob; her daughters, Pam (Ben) Patterson and Jacqueline
3(Paul) Muscia; her sons, Robert B. (Ann) Milliman, Mark
4Milliman, and Samuel Milliman; her brother, George Gardiner;
5her sisters, Marian (Gordy) Engen and Doris (Gardiner) Roy; and
6numerous grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Joyce Jacqueline Milliman, and extend our sincere condolences
10to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Joyce Milliman as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
