SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Edward Mauer of McHenry, who passed away 
4on June 18, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Mauer was born on December 11, 1939 in 
6Algoma, Wisconsin; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Edward Mauer entered the United States Marine 
8Corps right after high school and served from 1957 to 1962 at 
9Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and Camp Pendleton in 
10California; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Edward Mauer worked for the ARA Vending Company in 
12Chicago as an electrical field engineer, repairing vending 
13equipment for 10 years; he later worked for Complete Vending 
14Service in St. Charles for 35 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Edward Mauer was a charter member of the McHenry 
16Marine Corps League and actively served as adjutant for three 
17years; he enjoyed participating in the organization's 
18programs, especially Toys for Tots; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Edward Mauer loved to fish, camp, and boat on the 
20Chain of Lakes; after his retirement, he enjoyed traveling and

1camping with his wife in their motorhome; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Edward Mauer is survived by his loving wife of 50 
3years, Janice; his beloved daughters, Michelle (John) Wilson 
4and Jennifer (David) Pocs; his grandchildren, Chloe and 
5Gabrielle Wilson and Elena, Sofia, and Larsen Pocs; his sister, 
6Edith Stiehl; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews; 
7therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Edward Mauer; and be 
11it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to the family of Edward Mauer as an expression of our 
14sympathy.
