| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Stanley M. Koch of Marengo, who passed |
| 4 | | away on June 21, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Stanley Koch was born on January 4, 1924 in |
| 6 | | Hinckley; his parents were William F. and Sarah Koch; he |
| 7 | | married Lucille E. Ackman on February 17, 1945 at Trinity |
| 8 | | Lutheran Church in Huntley; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Stanley Koch graduated from Dundee High School in |
| 10 | | 1942 and was drafted into the United States Marine Corps on |
| 11 | | February 9, 1943; he studied at the Navy Pier in Chicago and |
| 12 | | became an aviation mechanic with the rank of Staff Sergeant; he |
| 13 | | spent the remainder of his service stationed at Miramar Marine |
| 14 | | Base in California, where he trained recruits to work on the |
| 15 | | Corsair aircraft; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, After the war, Stanley Koch worked at Dean Foods |
| 17 | | in Huntley, where he was on the team that developed the |
| 18 | | company's pasteurization and homogenization process; he was |
| 19 | | later employed at Union Special, where he retired after 32 |
| 20 | | years as a machinist; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Stanley Koch was an active and founding member of |
|

| 1 | | Huntley American Legion Post 673; he was the last veteran from |
| 2 | | World War II in the American Legion Post in the Huntley |
| 3 | | community; and |
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Stanley Koch and his wife were members of the |
| 5 | | Wisconsin Polka Club of Milwaukee and danced their way across |
| 6 | | the Midwest; they also enjoyed watching their grandchildren's |
| 7 | | sports and activities; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Stanley Koch was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 9 | | his loving wife, Lucille; his sisters, Velma Schuring and Lois |
| 10 | | McMillan; and his brothers, Laverne and Willard; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Stanley Koch is survived by his children, Connie |
| 12 | | (Eric) Mychko, Linda (James) Zielinski, Gloria (James) |
| 13 | | McLauchlan, and William (Christine); his grandchildren, Amy |
| 14 | | (James) Novak, James (Mandy) Rosenthal, Jenna Mychko, Bryan |
| 15 | | (Megan) Borchart, Brett (Amy) Borchart, Michael (Emily) |
| 16 | | McLauchlan, Matthew (Jaime) Koch, Tiffany (Casey) Loflin, and |
| 17 | | William M. Koch; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great |
| 18 | | grandchild; and many loving nieces and nephews; therefore, be |
| 19 | | it

| 20 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
| 21 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
| 22 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Stanley M. Koch; and |
