SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Bernard R. Gardner of Moline, who passed 
4away on July 6, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Bernard Gardner was born in Moline to Howard and 
6Thelma Jenkins Gardner on November 22, 1940; he married Doris 
7A. Tank in East Moline on September 8, 1967; and
  
 
  
8    WHEREAS, Bernard Gardner served his country in the United 
9States Air Force; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Bernard Gardner enjoyed woodworking and was an 
11avid Chicago Cubs fan; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Bernard Gardner is survived by his wife, Doris; 
13his daughter, Susan (Darrin) Johnson; his son, John "Jake" 
14Gardner; and his grandchildren, Claire Johnson and Derek 
15Johnson; therefore, be it
  
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
18Bernard R. Gardner, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
