SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ruth Wagner of Marengo, who passed away
4on July 17, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ruth Wagner was born on October 20, 1917 in Riley
6Township; her parents were William and Iva French; and
 
7    WHEREAS, After growing up on many farms in northern
8Illinois and living in several states, Ruth Wagner finally
9returned to her beloved Marengo in 1948, where she resided ever
10since; she worked at McGill's and Arnold Engineering before
11becoming an Avon lady, for which she is best known; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ruth Wagner was an active member of the Veterans
13of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and a faithful member of the Marengo
14United Methodist Church; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ruth Wagner was preceded in death by her first
16husband, Donald Locke, and her second husband, LaVerne Wagner;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ruth Wagner is survived by her children, John
19(Antje) Locke and Judith (Nolan) Bradford; her grandchildren,
20Jane Rensinger, Nancy Ridenour, David Locke, and Scott Miller;

111 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
5family and friends, mourn the passing of Ruth Wagner; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Ruth Wagner as an expression of our
9sympathy.
