| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Richard E. "Dick" Walters of Woodstock, |
| 4 | | who passed away on July 6, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Walters was born on September 20, 1942 in |
| 6 | | Woodstock; his parents were Ervin and Lucille Walters; he |
| 7 | | married Donna Gile on July 8, 1961; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Richard Walters graduated from Alden-Hebron High |
| 9 | | School; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Richard Walters farmed all of his life; his love |
| 11 | | and passion for the land and what it could produce was |
| 12 | | recognized when he was named the State of Illinois Outstanding |
| 13 | | Young Farmer; he also received the National Young Farmer Award; |
| 14 | | and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Richard Walters served on the Woodstock District |
| 16 | | 200 School Board and was President for eight years; he was |
| 17 | | involved in and committed to supporting the farming community; |
| 18 | | he served on the boards of the Illinois FFA, the McHenry County |
| 19 | | Farm Bureau, Conserve FS, and Growmark, Inc.; he was also a |
| 20 | | member of Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock; and
|
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Richard Walters was preceded in death by his son, |
| 2 | | Kenneth; his granddaughter, Jamie; and his parents; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Richard Walters is survived by his loving wife, |
| 4 | | Donna; his daughters, Janet (Steven) Rouse, Sandra (Jeffory) |
| 5 | | Harris, and Nancy (William) Beaman; his grandchildren, |
| 6 | | Jonathan and Jenna Rouse, Grant Jackson, Ryan, Benjamin and |
| 7 | | Evan Harris, and Richard, Cathryn, and Aric Beaman; his sister, |
| 8 | | Judith (Thomas) Atkinson; his brother, Daniel Walters; and many |
| 9 | | cherished nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, |
| 10 | | aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it
|
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
| 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
| 13 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Richard E. "Dick" |
| 14 | | Walters; and be it further
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 16 | | presented to the family of Richard Walters as an expression of |
| 17 | | our sympathy.
