SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Robert E. "Bob" Reiher of Carlinville, 
4who passed away on July 30, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Reiher was born on June 22, 1967 in 
6Carlinville; his parents were Veryl and Linda Reiher; he 
7married Lori Yowell on July 12, 1991 at St. Joseph's Church in 
8Carlinville; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Reiher graduated from Carlinville High 
10School in 1985; he earned a degree in Aeronautical Engineering 
11from the University of Illinois in 1989 and a Master's Degree 
12in Space Sciences from the University of Houston in 1992; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Robert Reiher's proudest achievement in his 
14professional life was working for McDonnell Douglas and NASA at 
15the Johnson Space Center, teaming with other rocket scientists 
16to design the International Space Station; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Reiher was a member of Ss. Mary and Joseph 
18Church, where he was a founding member and President of the St. 
19Vincent de Paul Society; he also joined his wife on the 
20Carlinville High School All-School Musical team, where he built 
21sets, managed backstage, and told goofy jokes to hundreds of

1CHS students; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Robert Reiher was preceded in death by his 
3grandparents, Truman and Fern Reiher and Victor and Mae 
4Rosentreter; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Reiher is survived by his wife, Lori; his 
6daughter, Madeline Marie; his son, Jack Truman; his sisters 
7Annette (Farley) Cole, Susi (Stuart) Twitchell, Melissa (Andy) 
8Bland, and Tanya (Nawar) Alchaar; and many nieces and nephews; 
9therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert E. "Bob" 
13Reiher; and be it further
  
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15presented to the family of Robert Reiher as an expression of 
16our sympathy.
