SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lillie Darnell Conkle, who passed away on
4July 17, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lillie Conkle was born on December 5, 1949 in
6Bolton, Mississippi; her parents were Willie A. Jamison and
7Doris M. Brown; she was raised in North Chicago and graduated
8from North Chicago High School in 1968; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lillie Conkle worked at the VA Medical Center in
10North Chicago for over 20 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lillie Conkle enjoyed drinking soda, watching TV,
12going to the movies, traveling, shopping, and spending time
13with her family, especially her grandchildren; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lillie Conkle is survived by her loving mother,
15Doris Johnson; her sons, Charles L. Conkle, Jr. and Quentin
16(Shavon) Conkle; her brother, Willie Johnson; her sister,
17Katherine Humes; her special friend, Vincent Haynes; her niece,
18Tewana Johnson; her nephews, Luther and Nathaniel Humes; her
19grandchildren, Tationne, Keonna, Amariah, Amya, Carlos,
20Quentin, Jr., Lovely, Charles III, and Jeremi; and many aunts,
21uncles, and cousins; and

1    WHEREAS, Lillie Conkle was preceded in death by her
2husband, Charles L. Conkle, Sr.; her father; her stepfather,
3Nathaniel Johnson; and her grandparents, Joseph and Lillie
4Brown; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Lillie Darnell Conkle;
8and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Lillie Conkle as an expression of
11our sympathy.
