SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Francis "Bud" Jones of Elwood, who passed
4away on August 7, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Francis Jones was born and raised in Joliet; he
6attended St. Patrick's Grade School, Washington Junior High
7School, and Joliet Catholic High School; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Francis Jones worked for the Alexander Lumber
9Company for 43 years until his retirement in 1999; he was a
10member of Teamster Local 179; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Francis Jones served his community as a member of
12the Elwood Village Board from 2007 until his death; he was a
13former Jackson Township Trustee and the former President of the
14Wyndstone Village Homeowners Association; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Francis Jones enjoyed traveling to Ireland,
16Italy, and Alaska with his wife; he was a devoted Chicago Bears
17and NASCAR fan and a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in
18Joliet; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Francis Jones was preceded in death by his wife,
20Nancy (Olsen); his parents, Francis and Mary (Breen); his

1sister, Kathleen Jones; his uncle, John (Lauretta) Breen; and
2numerous other aunts and uncles; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Francis Jones is survived by his children, William
4(Annette) Jones and Judge Sarah Jones; his sister, Mary
5Virginia (Raymond) Sicinski; his brother, Raymond (Marilyn)
6Jones; his nieces, Laura Ballard and Stephanie (Jeff) Kastelic;
7his nephews, Michael (Christine) Sicinski, David (Nicole)
8Jones, and Daniel (Kelly) Jones; his great-nieces and nephews,
9Abby and Jonathan Sicinski, Ben, Annie, Sam, and Maggie
10Ballard, Jake, Julia, and Will Kastelic, and Benjamin,
11Samantha, Anna, and Owen Jones; numerous cousins; his lifelong
12friend, Norma Baudino; and dedicated friends and neighbors,
13Peg, Dick, Joan, Ron, and Bob; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Francis "Bud" Jones, and extend our sincere condolences to his
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Francis Jones as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
