SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Wayne Holmbeck of Des Plaines, who passed
4away on July 29, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Wayne Holmbeck was born to Thure and Alva Holmbeck
6on November 26, 1922; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Wayne Holmbeck spent over 50 years as a mechanical
8engineer designing automatic machinery, a career he loved; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Wayne Holmbeck served in the United States Navy
10during World War II; he took part in an Honor Flight to
11Washington, D.C.; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Wayne Holmbeck enjoyed traveling with his wife and
13was incredibly active; he enjoyed running, golfing, camping,
14biking, swimming, skiing, and learning to snowboard at 80 with
15his grandchildren; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Wayne Holmbeck was preceded in death by his
17parents; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Wayne Holmbeck was the beloved husband of 67 years
19of Marion Stedt Holmbeck; the loving father of Christine

1(Brian) Reed, Lisa (Curt) Sellke, and the late Stephen (Julie)
2Holmbeck; grandfather to Jessica Reed, Abbey Reed (Joe) Pepper,
3Benjamin, Brittany, Kevin, Jennifer, Mitchell Holmbeck,
4Olivia, Zachary, and Samantha Sellke; great-grandfather to
5Jaxon and Brody Pepper; and uncle to Susan O'Connell, Cheryl
6Gamache, and Kristin Mather; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Wayne Holmbeck, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Wayne Holmbeck as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
