2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Arthur Walker of Lake Bluff, who passed |
4 | | away on July 30, 2016; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Arthur Walker was born on September 1, 1937 in |
6 | | Waukegan; his parents were Paul Walker and Wanda Hanzel Walker; |
7 | | and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Arthur Walker attended Holy Family Church and |
9 | | School in North Chicago and Waukegan and North Chicago High |
10 | | Schools; he later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice |
11 | | from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Arthur Walker served in the United States Army |
13 | | from 1957 to 1960; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Arthur Walker worked as a police officer for the |
15 | | City of Lake Forest for over 10 years until March of 1975, when |
16 | | he accepted the newly-created position of Chief Investigator |
17 | | for the Lake County State's Attorney's Office; his first duty |
18 | | while working for State's Attorney Jack Hoogaisian was to |
19 | | establish a complete criminal investigative unit; within 30 |
20 | | days, the unit was in place and it remains in operation today; |
