SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Donald J. Chopp; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Donald Chopp dedicated his life to his family and
5to causes he believed in, including Catholic education and
6community outreach; he served on school boards for St. Hugh,
7St. Cletus, and Nazareth Academy; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Donald Chopp belonged to Congregation of St.
9Joseph as an associate; he served as a Catholic minister of
10care; he also championed interfaith refugee resettlement
11through New Hope Connection; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Donald Chopp was the beloved husband of 55 years
13of Marylin (Tyce); the loving father of Catherine (James)
14Hinckley, Daniel (Maureen) Chopp, David Chopp, and Patricia
15(Arthur) Keegan; the loving grandfather of Claire, Danielle,
16Jack, John, Thomas, and Anna; the fond brother of Carol and
17Jean Chopp; and uncle and friend to many; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
20Donald J. Chopp, and extend our sincere condolences to his
21family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
