SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Jerry Marshall Kennedy of Miami Township, 
4Ohio, who passed away on August 19, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Kennedy was born in Smithville, Mississippi  
6to Marshall and Laura Reedy Kennedy on March 2, 1944; he  
7graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in 1962 and 
8spent most of his life in Winthrop Harbor; he graduated from 
9Southern Illinois University with a degree in business and 
10married Leona Sue Alsip; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Jerry Kennedy was a partner and owner of 
12Mid-America Tire Company in Ohio; and
  
 
  
13    WHEREAS, Jerry Kennedy was preceded in death by his 
14parents; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Jerry Kennedy is survived by his wife of 34 years, 
16Leona; his children, Mike Kennedy, Brad (Nancy) Brannon, Bobbi 
17Kennedy, and Heather (Glen) Nielsen; his grandchildren, Casey 
18Brannon, Olivia Nielsen, Erin Casellas, Beck Nielsen, and RJ 
19Casellas; his sister, Betty (Tom) McCann; his nephews, Scott 
20and Eric McCann; and his aunt, Mary Bennett; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Jerry Marshall Kennedy, and extend our sincere condolences to 
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Jerry Kennedy as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
