SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joy D. Pahl of Woodstock, who passed away
4on August 6, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joy Pahl was born in Cicero to Joseph and Eleanor
6(Pfeifer) Vesely on February 23, 1936; she attended Morton High
7School, where she was crowned Miss Morton in 1953, her senior
8year; she married Rudolph E. Pahl in Berwyn on February 26,
91955; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After raising her family, Joy Pahl worked for
11District 200 in the printing department; later, she taught
12water aerobics at the Woodstock Recreation Center and at
13Healthbridge; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Joy Pahl enjoyed gardening and square dancing with
15the Harvard Milk Center Squares; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Joy Pahl was preceded in death by her grandmother,
17Mae Pfeifer; her parents; and her granddaughter, Josie Baloun;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Joy Pahl is survived by her husband of 61 years,
20Rudy; her children, Katherine (Jim) Potts, Steve (Kim) Pahl,

1and Krista (Michael) Baloun; her grandchildren, Michael
2(Jessica) Potts, Matthew Potts, Steven, Dan, and Kaitlyn Pahl,
3and Jack and William Baloun; her great-grandchildren, Jaidyn,
4Lilyan, and Elliott; and her aunt, Lorraine Suster; therefore,
5be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Joy D. Pahl, and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
9friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Joy Pahl as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
