SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Charles H. Martin of East Moline, who 
4passed away on September 4, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Martin was born in Rock Island to Benjamin 
6F. and Margaret M. Catterton Martin on January 31, 1932; he 
7served as a drill sergeant in the United States Army;  he also 
8served in the National Guard; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Charles Martin worked as a grinder and forklift 
10operator for John Deere, retiring in 1989; and
  
 
  
11    WHEREAS, Charles Martin was preceded in death by his 
12parents; two spouses; his daughter, Velma; two brothers; and 
13four sisters; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Charles Martin is survived by his daughters, 
15Margaret "Vonnie" Lindstrom, and Mary Frances; his son, Charles 
16"Rusty" Martin; his grandchildren, Aaron, Dawn, Danielle, 
17Charles E., Jonathan, Anthoney, Susan, Rachel, Christina, 
18Giselle, and Tristan; several great-grandchildren; his 
19brother, Frank; and his sisters, Ida, Joan, Delores, and 
20Georgia; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Charles H. Martin, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Charles Martin as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
