SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gloriette Marlene Schultz of Waukegan,
4who passed away on September 7, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gloriette Schultz was born on January 14, 1931;
6her parents were Edwin and Mary Peterson; she married Richard
7H. "Dick" Schultz on August 5, 1950 at Christian Catholic
8Church in Zion; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Gloriette Schultz attended Zion Parochial School
10and graduated from Zion Benton High School in 1948; she was
11very active in organizing her class reunions; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gloriette Schultz and her husband raised their
13family in North Chicago until they moved to Waukegan in 1969;
14in May of 1969, they established Gloriette Bridal and Boutique,
15which she operated for 30 years; her mother and her aunt Ida
16left Heins Department Store's Bridal Department to join her in
17her venture, bringing their knowledge of the business with
18them; she employed 30 others over the years and served
19clientele from as far away as Rockford and Milwaukee; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Gloriette Schultz was preceded in death by her
21husband, Richard; her son, Gary; her parents; her sister,

1Jacqueline Delores; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred
2and Katherine Schultz; her brothers-in-law, Jack Worth and Bob
3Epker; and her nephew, Jim Worth; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Gloriette Schultz is survived by her children,
5Ardith (Gary) Laine, Fred Schultz, and Dr. Richard (Debra)
6Schultz; her grandchildren, Nikolas Schultz (Tiffany McBride),
7Matthew Laine (Chelsea Gallagher), Paige Schultz (Jordan
8Enwright), and Fallon Schultz; her sisters, Bonnie Epker and
9Rosemary (Al) Brean; her brother, Eric Peterson; her
10sister-in-law, Marie Worth; her brothers-in-law, John (Evelyn)
11Schultz and Bill (Doris) Schultz; and many nieces and nephews;
12therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
15family and friends, mourn the passing of Gloriette Marlene
16Schultz; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Gloriette Schultz as an expression
19of our sympathy.
