SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dennis Cooper, who passed away on
4September 16, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dennis Cooper was born on June 12, 1943 in
6Sturdivant, Missouri; his parents were Howard and Georgia
7Cooper; he married Sandra "Sandi" L. Clapp on July 20, 1963 at
8the Cottage Hills Baptist Church; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dennis Cooper and his wife were the owners and
10operators of Geno's 140 Club in Bethalto from June 20, 1983
11until his passing; he was also president of the Illinois
12Licensed Beverage Association for six years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dennis Cooper enjoyed traveling, seeing his
14friends, and spending time with his family; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dennis Cooper was preceded in death by his
16parents; his wife, Sandra; his brothers, Jerrold, David, and
17Michael Cooper; and his sister-in-law, Shirley Cooper; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dennis Cooper is survived by his sons and
19daughters-in-law, Cord and Kelly Cooper and Shane and Stacy
20Cooper; his grandchildren, Meaghan (Chris) Kearbey and

1Caitlyn, Jordan, Dylan, and Wyatt Cooper; his
2great-grandchildren, Landon, Logan, Clayton, Machayla, and
3McKenna; his brothers and sister-in-law, Garry and Rose Cooper
4and Dawson "DM" Cooper; and several nieces and nephews;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Dennis Cooper; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Dennis Cooper as an expression of
12our sympathy.
