SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert Thompson, who passed away on
4September 25, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Thompson was born on October 16, 1938 in
6Danville; his parents were Carl and Ethel Thompson; he married
7Roberta Berry on December 22, 1962 in Georgetown; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Robert Thompson proudly served our country in the
9United States Navy; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Robert Thompson was a member of the Danville
11American Legion, the Danville Veterans of Foreign Wars, the USS
12Lexington Museum of Corpus Christie, Texas, and the
13International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Robert Thompson enjoyed antique cars, and
15cheering on the Chicago Cubs and White Sox, being outside,
16gardening, fishing, and playing cards; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Thompson was preceded in death by his
18parents; his brother, Kenneth Thompson; his daughter, Cathy
19Spiering; his son, Greg Walker; and his granddaughter, Ciera
20Spiering; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert Thompson is survived by his wife, Roberta;
2his sons, Micheal (Kathy) Walker and Bob Thompson, Jr.; his
3daughter, Janet (Brad) Constans; his sister, Sharon Bly; his
4grandchildren, Rachel (Klayton) Walkaufson, Allen (Ashely)
5Walker, Morgan (Josh) Spiering, Lexington Spiering, Bryer
6Constans, Tyler Constans, and Jerrica (Chadd) Snyder; his
7great-grandchildren, Elysia Spiering, Delilah Walker, and one
8on the way; his son-in-law, Tim Spiering; and his nephews, Gary
9Bly and David Parsons; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert Thompson; and
13be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Robert Thompson as an expression of
16our sympathy.
