SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Eric L. Justen of Burbank, California,
4formerly of Wonder Lake, who passed away on August 11, 2016;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Eric Justen was born on August 25, 1972 in
7Woodstock; his parents were Rick and Mary Justen; he married
8Cassandra Suarez on May 21, 2016 in Maui, Hawaii; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Eric Justen graduated from McHenry High School in
101990 and Columbia College in Chicago, where he majored in
11sound; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Eric Justen worked at various studios before
13landing a position at Warner Brothers, where he worked as a
14post-production re-recording mixer for the last nine years; he
15worked on more than 100 movies and television shows in his
16lifetime, including the original "The Fast and the Furious";
17recently, he was nominated for an Emmy three consecutive times
18for Outstanding Sound Mixing on the critically acclaimed
19television show "Breaking Bad" for its three final seasons; he
20was also part of the team who won the 2014 Motion Picture Sound
21Editors Award for Best Sound Editing; his last TV show, "Queen
22Sugar", will air this coming September and will feature a

1tribute to Eric for his sound contribution in the last episode;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Eric Justen was preceded in death by his maternal
4grandfather, Joseph DeMar, and his paternal grandparents, Nick
5and Elaine Justen; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Eric Justen is survived by his wife, Cassandra;
7his parents; his brother, Marc (Rachel) Justen; his niece and
8nephew, Haylee and Hayden; his nephew, Dominic; his maternal
9grandmother, Barbara DeMar; and many aunts, uncles, nieces,
10nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Eric L. Justen; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Eric Justen as an expression of our
17sympathy.
