SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Clifford G. Mason of McHenry, who passed
4away on August 29, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Clifford Mason was born on September 20, 1927 in
6Chicago; his parents were Frank and Dorothy Mason; he married
7Nancy L. Waller on April 3, 1965 in Chicago; he was a longtime
8resident of Wonder Lake before moving to McHenry in 2002; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Clifford Mason enlisted in the United States Navy
10at the age of 17 and proudly served the country for three
11years, discharging honorably at the rank of Electrician Mate,
122nd Class; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Clifford Mason attended Loyola University and
14graduated with an associate's degree; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Clifford Mason worked at the Bell Telephone
16Company for 30 years and retired from his position as marketing
17manager in 1978; he also worked alongside the McHenry County
18Sheriff's Department as a special deputy officer and civil
19processor and drove for ATEC Ambulance; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Clifford Mason's love of water and the outdoors

1stayed with him for his lifetime and he enjoyed taking part in
2Wonder Lake's many water activities; he was also an avid golfer
3and could be found perfecting his model railroad collection;
4and
 
5    WHEREAS, Clifford Mason was preceded in death by his
6parents; his sisters, Winifred (Webb) Paschke and Jean
7Breeding; his brother, Bruce Mason; and his brother-in-law, Mel
8Flanders; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Clifford Mason is survived by his wife, Nancy; his
10children, Lynn Cunningham, Gregory (Christine) Mason, Carolyn
11(Michael) Piro, and Janet (Charles) Wegener; his
12grandchildren, Shannon Selim, Rebekah Bain, Taryn Mason,
13Daniel Mason, Samantha Piro, Zoe Piro, Jonathan Wegener, and
14Allison Wegener; his sisters, Edith Flanders and Lowis (Dale)
15Plum; his brother-in-law, John Breeding; and many nieces and
16nephews; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
19family and friends, mourn the passing of Clifford G. Mason; and
20be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Clifford Mason as an expression of
