SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Donald A. "Rudy" Rudat, who passed away
4on September 14, 2016 at the age of 83; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Rudat was born on September 17, 1932 on the
6Rudat Farm Property in Crystal Lake; his parents were Fred
7Rudat, Sr. and Augusta Rudat; he married Donna Nitz on April
830, 1960; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Donald Rudat attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade
10School and graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School in
111950; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Donald Rudat served in the United States Marine
13Corps from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Donald Rudat worked for Inland Supply, Paragon
15Supply, and Crawford Supply in the plumbing, heating, and
16cooling industry in Elgin for 57 years until his retirement in
17March of 2007; he also served as Executive Director of the
18Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors - Elgin and Vicinity for
1920 years; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Donald Rudat was a member of Immanuel Lutheran

1Church in Crystal Lake and served on many boards and
2committees; he served on the City of Crystal Lake Fire and
3Police Commission for over 20 years; he established the Teen
4Table Talks Program and enjoyed working with church teens and
5volunteering for PADS, making French toast and sausage for
6patrons; he was also a volunteer at the Crystal Lake Food
7Pantry until July of 2015; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Donald Rudat enjoyed gardening, working in the
9yard, walking his dogs, watching the birds, and keeping the
10squirrels away from his feeders to no avail; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Donald Rudat was preceded in death by his parents;
12his sisters, Viola Meier, Marjorie Frisch, and Nancy Rudat; and
13his brother, Fred Rudat, Jr.; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Donald Rudat is survived by his wife, Donna; his
15children, Donette (Brian) Beattie, Donald A. Rudat, Jr., Todd
16(Sheila) Rudat, and Beth (Edward) Devaney; his grandchildren,
17Tristan, Trevor, and Trey; and many nieces and nephews;
18therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
21family and friends, mourn the passing of Donald A. "Rudy"
22Rudat; and be it further
