SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dort Fauntleroy of Geneva, who passed
4away on August 31, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dort Fauntleroy was born in Chicago to Gorton and
6Dorothy Dort Fauntleroy on April 30, 1925; he graduated from
7Lake Forest Academy and enlisted in the United States Army,
8where he served in the 324th Infantry during World War II,
9receiving various commendations; he graduated from Lehigh
10University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 1954 with a Bachelor
11of Science in Engineering; and
 
12    WHEREAS, After graduation, Dort Fauntleroy joined the
13family foundry business, eventually becoming President and CEO
14of Moline Malleable/Moline Corporation, and President and CEO
15of Dort Metallurgical in St. Charles; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dort Fauntleroy enjoyed riding his
17Harley-Davidson motorcycle and spending summers on the Cisco
18Chain of Lakes in Northern Wisconsin, where he developed his
19lifelong love of fishing; he and his wife enjoyed vacations
20with their family and friends on the beach on Sanibel Island;
21he was a longtime member of the Geneva Golf Club, the Geneva
22Lion's Club, the Dunham Woods Riding Club, and the First

1Congregational Church in Geneva; he was a 59-year member of the
2Tebala Shriners, and served on the board of Delnor Hospital;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, Dort Fauntleroy was preceded in death by his
5parents and his wife of 60 years, Carol Wiek Fauntleroy; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dort Fauntleroy is survived by his daughter, Jean
7Fauntleroy; his son, David Fauntleroy; and his grandsons,
8Patrick (Caitlin) and Andrew; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Dort Fauntleroy, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Dort Fauntleroy as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
