| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Dort Fauntleroy of Geneva, who passed |
| 4 | | away on August 31, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dort Fauntleroy was born in Chicago to Gorton and |
| 6 | | Dorothy Dort Fauntleroy on April 30, 1925; he graduated from |
| 7 | | Lake Forest Academy and enlisted in the United States Army, |
| 8 | | where he served in the 324th Infantry during World War II, |
| 9 | | receiving various commendations; he graduated from Lehigh |
| 10 | | University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 1954 with a Bachelor |
| 11 | | of Science in Engineering; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, After graduation, Dort Fauntleroy joined the |
| 13 | | family foundry business, eventually becoming President and CEO |
| 14 | | of Moline Malleable/Moline Corporation, and President and CEO |
| 15 | | of Dort Metallurgical in St. Charles; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Dort Fauntleroy enjoyed riding his |
| 17 | | Harley-Davidson motorcycle and spending summers on the Cisco |
| 18 | | Chain of Lakes in Northern Wisconsin, where he developed his |
| 19 | | lifelong love of fishing; he and his wife enjoyed vacations |
| 20 | | with their family and friends on the beach on Sanibel Island; |
| 21 | | he was a longtime member of the Geneva Golf Club, the Geneva |
| 22 | | Lion's Club, the Dunham Woods Riding Club, and the First |
