SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert Glen "Bob" Stickler Sr. of
4Puryear, Tennessee and North Chicago, who passed away on
5October 14, 2016; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Robert Stickler Sr. was born in Waukegan to
7Bernard Roy and Alice Witte Stickler on September 19, 1928; he
8served in the United States Army during the Korean War; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Stickler Sr. was a career police officer
10and retired with the rank of Sergeant from the North Chicago
11Police Department after 21 years of service; he also retired
12from the security force of the North Chicago VA Hospital; he
13served as President of the North Chicago Police Department
14Pension Board; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Robert Stickler Sr. spent his retirement years in
16Puryear, Tennessee; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Stickler Sr. was preceded in death by his
18parents; his brother, Bernard Stickler Jr.; and his grandson,
19Zachary Stickler; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Robert Stickler Sr. is survived by his wife of 68

1years, Evelyne Harazak Stickler; his children, Sally Stickler
2Myers, Robert Stickler Jr., Michael (Maureen) Stickler,
3Lawrence (Therese) Stickler, and James (Christine) Stickler;
4his sister, Lois (Carl) Streed; his brother, Wayne (Faye)
5Stickler; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and
6numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Robert Glen "Bob" Stickler Sr., and extend our sincere
10condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
11him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Robert Stickler Sr. as an expression
14of our deepest sympathy.
