SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Betty Caryl McKenzie of Park City, who
4passed away on October 22, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Betty McKenzie was born on April 26, 1936 in
6Waukegan; her parents were Benny Foxie, Sr. and Katherine
7Blanchard Foxie; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Betty McKenzie was an avid business professional;
9she served as President of the PTO at Whittier and Glenwood
10Elementary Schools; she also served as secretary of her bowling
11league and as President of the Lake County Business Woman
12Association Debutante Ball Committee and many other charitable
13organizations; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Betty McKenzie enjoyed reading and writing and was
15the author of "The Betty Chronicles" in the Waukegan News Sun;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Betty McKenzie was preceded in death by her
18parents and her daughter, Sharon; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Betty McKenzie is survived by her husband of 60
20years, Sherman H. McKenzie Sr., and her children, Sherman Jr.,

1Scott McKenzie, Sr., and Steve McKenzie; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
4family and friends, mourn the passing of Betty Caryl McKenzie;
5and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Betty McKenzie as an expression of
8our sympathy.
