SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Frank A. Cacci, who passed away on
4September 22, 2016, at the age of 100; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Cacci was born on June 29, 1916; he was a
6member of the Rockford police force in the 1930s; he served as
7a military police officer during World War II; he was awarded
8the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with three
9bronze battle stars for the Invasion of Normandy, the Battle of
10Stalingrad, and the Battle of the Bulge; in addition, he
11received the Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, After World War II, Frank Cacci moved to
14Woodstock, where he owned and operated the Woodstock News
15Agency from the late 1940s through the early 1980s; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Frank Cacci enjoyed golfing, playing well into his
1790s; he scored a hole-in-one on July 29, 1964 at the Woodstock
18Country Club and received a 24k gold-plated putter; he was one
19of the original eight members of Woodstock's VFW Honor Squad
20founded in 1947 and served as commander from 1949 to 1950; he
21joined the Elks in 1953 and was awarded life membership in
221983; he served as President of the Woodstock Country Club in

11960; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Frank Cacci was preceded in death by his wife,
3Arlene; his brother, Joe (Mary) Cacci; and his son-in-law,
4Buddy Wineburgh; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Cacci is survived by his children, Nancy
6(Ray) Reidy, Ginger Wineburgh, Frank Jr. (Jackie) Cacci, and
7Chris Cacci; his stepson, John (Judy) Flood; his grandchildren,
8Mark (Nancy), Tony (Catie), and Heather (Shane); his
9step-grandchildren, Suzie, Mindy, Amy, and Andy; his
10great-grandchildren, Marissa and Zara; his
11step-great-grandchild, Macey; his second wife, Esther; and
12countless nieces, nephews, and dear friends; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Frank A. Cacci, and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Frank Cacci as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
