SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Kenneth Bernard Wanagas of Spring Grove, 
4who passed away on October 5, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth Wanagas was born on July 7, 1952 in 
6Chicago; his parents were Bernard and Lena Wanagas; he married 
7Doris Green on October 14, 1972 at St. Gilbert Church in 
8Grayslake; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Kenneth Wanagas was a self-employed land 
10surveyor; he and his wife were the proprietors of Peppermint 
11Preschool in Spring Grove for 11 years and of the Peppermint 
12Stick Preschool in Antioch from 1990 to 2005; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Kenneth Wanagas earned his pilot's license in 1981 
14and loved flying his Cessna airplane; he also loved sailing and 
15boating on the Twin Lakes in Wisconsin, fishing, traveling, 
16fixing things, photography, and spending time with his family; 
17and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Kenneth Wanagas was preceded in death by his 
19parents and his brother, John Wanagas; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Kenneth Wanagas is survived by his wife, Doris;

1his children, Rebecca Wanagas, Renee (Ernie) Luczkowski, Marc 
2Wanagas, and April Wanagas; his grandchildren, Emma, Victoria, 
3and Christopher; his sisters, Caryle (Jeff) McCaffrey and Mary 
4(Richard) Nahrstadt; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be 
5it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Kenneth Bernard 
9Wanagas; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Kenneth Wanagas as an expression of 
12our sympathy.
