| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of William J. Smith of Villa Park, who |
| 4 | | passed away on October 30, 2016 at the age of 84; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, William Smith served in the United States Navy |
| 6 | | during the Korean War; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, William Smith served as Chaplain of Veterans of |
| 8 | | Foreign Wars Post #2801 in Villa Park; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, William Smith was the beloved husband of 58 years |
| 10 | | of Arlene; the loving father of Suzanne Smith and Kevin (the |
| 11 | | late Diana) Smith; the dearest grandfather of Laura and |
| 12 | | Brandon; the dear brother of the late George (Ana), Donald |
| 13 | | (Dorothy), and Robert Smith; and the cherished uncle and |
| 14 | | great-uncle of many; therefore, be it

| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
| 16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
| 17 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of William J. Smith; and |
| 18 | | be it further
