SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Michael Gutterridge, who passed away on 
4July 8, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Michael Gutterridge served as business manager of 
6Gutterridge Harley Davidson in Tilton for six years; in 1979, 
7he bought the family business from his parents, who moved the 
8operation to College Street in 1958; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Michael Gutterridge was an active member of his 
10community; he was a life member of the American Motorcycle 
11Association, an honorary lifetime member of the Illinois 
12Motorcycle Dealers Association, and a member of the Olive 
13Branch Masonic Temple, Eastern Star, and the Gao Grotto; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Michael Gutterridge had a lifelong love of 
15motorcycles; he loved and was very involved in numerous 
16Illinois Motorcycle Dealers Association races and events, 
17especially the Springfield Mile; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Michael Gutterridge was preceded in death by his 
19parents, Jake and Ruth Gutterridge; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Michael Gutterridge is survived by his wife,

1Elizabeth "Beth" Gutterridge; his sons, Troy and Roger 
2Gutterridge; his grandson, Jacob Gutterridge; and his many 
3friends and fellow Harley riders; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Michael Gutterridge; 
7and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Michael Gutterridge as an expression 
10of our sympathy.
