| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Alfonzy Williams, who passed away on |
| 4 | | September 19, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams was born in Starkville, |
| 6 | | Mississippi to Charles and Aurelia Moore Williams on April 29, |
| 7 | | 1928; he was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in |
| 8 | | Starkville; he served in the United States Air Force from 1945 |
| 9 | | to 1949; after the war, he moved to East St. Louis and joined |
| 10 | | Paul Baptist Church; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams worked for ITT Blackburn; after |
| 12 | | his retirement, he owned and operated Tony's Food Shop; he also |
| 13 | | owned several real estate properties; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams married LeJeanne (Max) McNeese |
| 15 | | on November 12, 2013; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams was a comedian and enjoyed making |
| 17 | | people laugh; he also enjoyed going to Jerry's Cafe after |
| 18 | | church and watching sports in his favorite chair; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams was preceded in death by his |
| 20 | | parents, and 17 siblings; and
