SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Alfonzy Williams, who passed away on
4September 19, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams was born in Starkville,
6Mississippi to Charles and Aurelia Moore Williams on April 29,
71928; he was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in
8Starkville; he served in the United States Air Force from 1945
9to 1949; after the war, he moved to East St. Louis and joined
10Paul Baptist Church; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams worked for ITT Blackburn; after
12his retirement, he owned and operated Tony's Food Shop; he also
13owned several real estate properties; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams married LeJeanne (Max) McNeese
15on November 12, 2013; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams was a comedian and enjoyed making
17people laugh; he also enjoyed going to Jerry's Cafe after
18church and watching sports in his favorite chair; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams was preceded in death by his
20parents, and 17 siblings; and

1    WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams is survived by his wife,
2LeJeanne; his sister, Susie Williams; his brother, Jefferson
3Williams; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host
4of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other
5relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Alfonzy Williams, and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Alfonzy Williams as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
