SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Arthur Daniel "Dan" Nafziger II of 
4Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on November 25,2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Arthur Nafziger II was born in Bloomington to 
6Arthur and Marjorie Nafziger on March 26, 1956; he graduated 
7from
Central Catholic High School in Bloomington in 1974 and 
8earned degrees  in agriculture
and finance from Illinois State 
9University in Normal, where he was also a member of the Alpha 
10Tau
Omega fraternity; he married Sandra Kay West in 1984; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Arthur Nafziger II had a long and successful 
12career in agribusiness and finance before retiring; he worked 
13for both MetLife Agriculture Insurance and Aegon USA; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Arthur Nafziger II was an active member of his 
15church, Our Lady of Lourdes, and a member of the Illinois 
16Agriculture
Leadership Foundation; he served as Treasurer for 
17the Woods of St. Thomas Homeowners
Association; he played the 
18voice of Freddy Farm Bureau every year at the Kentucky State

19Fair; he was an avid Louisville Cardinals fan and an 
20enthusiastic tennis player and golfer; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, Arthur Nafziger II was preceded in death by his

1parents; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Arthur Nafziger II is survived by his wife, Sandy; 
3his children, Ryan, Mary Grace, and Derek; and his siblings, 
4Martha (Robert) Hillmer, John (Barb) Nafziger, Jane (Mike) 
5Winters, Rita (Mark Sokolik)
Nafziger, Alice (Mike Diehl) 
6Benga, Paul (Ellen) Nafziger, and LeAnna (Rick) Mutchler; 
7therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
10Arthur Daniel "Dan" Nafziger II, and extend our sincere 
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
12him; and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to  the family of  Arthur Nafziger II as an expression 
15of our deepest sympathy.
