SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Lewis Allen Carmichael of Oak Park, who 
4passed away on December 30, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lewis Carmichael was born in Hope, Indiana to 
6Norman and Ellenore Carmichael on January 31, 1931; he served 
7in the United States Navy and  married Jackie Carmichael in 
81956; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Lewis Carmichael had been employed as a dentist, 
10substitute teacher, and a cabbie; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lewis Carmichael was a photographer; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Lewis Carmichael was a member of the Veterans of 
13Foreign
Wars; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lewis Carmichael was a dedicated Democratic party 
15member and was a longtime volunteer with the Democratic Party 
16of Oak Park; he worked tirelessly for years in support of 
17Democratic candidates; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Lewis Carmichael loved being a grandfather; he was  
19well-loved
and appreciated for his personality; and

1    WHEREAS, Lewis Carmichael is survived by Jackie; his 
2children, Harry Carmichael, Rebecca Simon, and Jason 
3Carmichael; and his grandchildren,
Caithen, Dorothy, Norman, 
4Gregory, Robert, Christopher, Mikey, Alex, Peter, Olivia, and 
5Sydney; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
8Lewis Allen Carmichael, and extend our sincere condolences to 
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
10further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to  the family of  Lewis Carmichael as an expression of 
13our deepest sympathy.
