SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Patricia Elaine Richardson, who passed
4away on December 2, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Patricia Richardson was born to Theodore David and
6LaVera (Duncan) Howard on September 3, 1945; her mother would
7go on to marry Alvoid Lane, who loved Patricia as his own; she
8attended Wadsworth Elementary School and graduated from Park
9High School in 1963; she attended Wilson Jr. College while
10working as a waitress and once served Muhammad Ali a banana
11split; she married Russel Richardson in 1967; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Patricia Richardson worked as a manager at Sears,
13Roebuck and Co. in the credit department; she stopped working
14shortly before her first baby was born; she and her husband
15lived for periods of time in Lake Forest; Cincinnati, Ohio; and
16San Diego, California; finally settling in Country Club Hills,
17where she worked in a variety of capacities, but primarily as a
18librarian within her children's school district #144; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Patricia Richardson loved music, theater, and the
20arts and instilled a love of these in her children and
21grandchildren; she was a Girl Scout leader; she loved to watch
22old movies, sing Broadway musicals, read mystery novels, and

1helping her children collect and rescue animals of all kinds;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Patricia Richardson was preceded in death by her
4husband of almost 50 years, Russell; her fathers, Alvoid and
5Theodore David; her brother, Donald; and her sister, Lillian;
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, Patricia Richardson is survived by her children,
8Desirae Douma, Andrew (Jennifer), and Jennifer; her
9grandchildren, Zachary, Brenden, Emily, Alexis, Sydney,
10Kennedy, McKenzie, Hawaii, Anaya, A.J., Sati, Lucy, and Ethel;
11her mother, Lavera; her sister, Yvonne; her sister-in-law,
12Katherine; her brother-in-law, Leonard (Betty); her uncle,
13Richard; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, beloved
14friends, and colleagues; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Patricia Elaine Richardson, and extend our sincere condolences
18to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
19it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Patricia Richardson as an expression
22of our deepest sympathy.
