SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of William "Bill" Casey, who passed away in 
4December of 2016 at the age of 87; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, William Casey was a native of Carnacon, County 
6Mayo, Ireland; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, William Casey served in the United States Army 
8during the Korean War; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, William Casey was the former President and 
10Treasurer (23 years) of The Shamrock American Club; he was a 
11former board member and active volunteer with the Irish 
12American Heritage Center; he was a Eucharistic Minister for 25 
13years at St. Juliana Church Parish; and
 
14    WHEREAS, William Casey was preceded in death by his 
15brothers, Malachy, Michael, and Peter; his sister, Mary 
16Raleigh; his brothers-in-law, Michael Raleigh, and Mike Byrne; 
17and his sister-in-law, Eileen; and
  
 
  
18    WHEREAS, William Casey is survived by his wife of 58 years, 
19Margaret; his daughters, Margaret (Michael) Tower, and Katie 
20Casey; his son, William (Amy); and his grandchildren, Michael,

1Brian, Jack, and Christopher Tower, and Hannah and Sarah Casey; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5William "Bill" Casey, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  William Casey as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
