SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Otis Dean Cozad of Rock Island, who 
4passed away on December 18, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Otis Cozad was born in Centerville, Iowa to Otis 
6and Inez Owens Cozad on March 5, 1930; he served in the United 
7States Army during the Korean War and married Ruth Swango in 
8Las Vegas in 1957; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Otis Cozad owned and operated Cozad Auto in 
10Davenport, Iowa; and
  
 
  
11    WHEREAS, Otis Cozad was preceded in death by his parents; 
12his wife, Ruth; his sisters, Violet Stamos, and Nora Bain; and 
13his brothers, Berdette and James Cozad; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Otis Cozad is survived by his son, David (Vicki) 
15Cozad; his daughter, Brenda Cozad; two grandchildren; and his 
16very special friend, Norma Kruse; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
19Otis Dean Cozad, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
20family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
